1 What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the owners of the site.
Similar technologies — such as local storage, session storage, and device fingerprinting — can serve similar purposes. This policy covers all such technologies used on hive-uk.co.uk.
2 How We Use Cookies
Hive UK's website uses cookies only where strictly necessary to:
- Remember your session if you access any authenticated web features
- Maintain your cookie consent preference so we do not ask you repeatedly
- Protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF)
We do not use cookies for:
- Advertising or retargeting
- Cross-site tracking
- Selling data to third-party advertisers
- Building behavioural profiles for commercial purposes

5 The Mobile App
The Hive UK mobile application (Android and iOS) does not use browser cookies. Instead it uses:
- Encrypted secure storage on your device to hold your JWT authentication token — this is never transmitted beyond the authentication flow.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device tokens for push notification delivery. These are held on Firebase's servers under our Data Processing Agreement. See our Privacy Policy for details.
